Making sense of war and nuclear catastrophe, Belarus (1944-)

You and your research (brief description)
I have a project on a fascinating chronicle of a small village in south-eastern Belarus that was burned down by the Wehrmacht during the war and subsequently rebuilt, then evacuated in 1986 following the Chernobyl catastrophe. The author talks about Chernobyl as God's punishment for environmental destruction during the Soviet period
